Okay so maybe we don’t exactly. But we did beat Miami. Long time hated rivals Miami. The Canes. Maybe they should stick to terrorizing Louisiana (bad joke, I know).
What an exciting game. From the kickoff Florida State proved they could still beat big-name teams. Even though our special teams had an unusually off game, our defense was as amazing as ever (granted we did give up more points in this game then our last 4 games combined, but they did make some key stops). The offense was the suprising factor in this game though. Christian Ponder really stepped up his game this week. I mean, when was the last time we had a qb run for over 100 yards? Certainly a breath of the past into a rebuilding team.
So now that we got that monkey off our back, who’s next? We have to wait until next Thursday (Oct 16) to play NC State (away) at 7:30pm. Then it’s home against Virginia Tech on Sat, Oct 25 (the game I will be attending). NC State should be an easy win, but I seem to remember saying that when I purchased FSU/NCST tickets a few years ago and travelled to Tallahassee only to see them lose. So at this point, anything’s possible. But I sure hope this new-found offensive energy and Ponder’s confidence will carry us into an over .500 season.
